It’s really happening!
I have built this website before, many times, in my head. I have imagined it as a place to share the photos of my own personal journey around the wheel, and a place where I could communicate my reflections within an audience of friends. In my mind’s eye, I could see it as a vehicle to share my abilities as a tarot reader with those who seek guidance, and as a magickal portal to my own witches’ cupboard.
For awhile, I wasn’t sure that it would happen. It seems that every time I felt ready to start this project, I met with a new obstacle. But now, within this season of Imbolc, it is really beginning!
This is the time of year to celebrate new beginnings. It is the reawakening of the Earth, and a celebration of everything new. The lambs are being born and the ewes are in milk — the seasons which provide us fresh food once again are just around the corner. The ground has been prepared and the well-tended seeds are ready for planting.
During every Imbolc, the Crone departs and the Goddess makes her return as the Maiden. With the return of the Sun God, we are promised more and more light as each day passes.
Amidst the darkness the Lady is stirring;
Gently awakening from frozen dreams.
All the world has awaited this moment,
The return of the Maiden and Her promise of Spring.
Every year there is a chance to begin again. Every year we are given the opportunity to re-light the hearth fires and usher in the new. We can take what we have saved from the old, use the lessons we have learned, and bid welcome to new life.
This is also a great time of year to form new relationships. I hope to meet many new friends through this blog, it’s sister page on Facebook, and the guidwife’s channel on YouTube.
