Do You Know Your Big Three?

This photo was taken at a Bohemian Gypsy themed birthday party, where I was solicited to provide tarot readings for guests.  What a great time I had!  I did know most of the Querents, at least casually.  One by one, they approached the table for a reading, — with open minds, open hearts and (somewhat unfortunately) a sense of humor.

Don’t get me wrong.  I understand that most people consider tarot to be “for entertainment purposes only”.  In time, I think I can change their minds.

The same goes for the Weekly Tarotscopes I’ve been posting here on this blog.  But, this one I totally understand.  Most “weekly horoscopes” (of any kind) are too general to be of use to anyone, because they are based solely on a person’s Sun sign.  But, that is two details less than the absolute minimum one needs to describe themselves in astrological terms.

Tarotscopes (as well as general horoscope readings) can be more accurate for you, personally, if you know your “big three”, — also known as the Primal Triad — the bare bones, the essence of who you are.

The Big Three includes:

  • your Sun sign (your Ego self: your character; what motivates you)
  • your Moon sign (your Soul self: your feelings; how you react), and
  • your Ascendant (the mask you wear, your style; how you go about achieving your goals)

Also called your Rising sign, the Ascendant is the sign of the zodiac that was just coming up over the eastern horizon at the moment you were born.  If you were born at sunrise, your Rising sign would be the same as your Sun sign.

Your Ascendant is important for two reasons.  First, like your Sun sign, it serves to establish a basic pattern in your life.  Where the Sun establishes your character, or who you really are, your Ascendant determines your personality, or what you show the world as you deal with it.

The second reason is that it establishes the position of your 12 houses in the zodiac.  [This information is much more complicated, and not necessary for the purpose of enjoying a Weekly Tarotscope.]

You can access your own Big Three in many places, for free, on the internet.  Here is one that I use when I am doing a tarot reading for someone that is not in the room with me, whether in person or over Skype.  Knowing a Querent’s primal triad is a way of receiving what some call an “astrological handshake”.  With this handshake, I will know the essence of a Querent and be able to read their energies just as if they were physically present in the room with me.

To best utilize the Weekly Tarotscopes, here on this blog, read the forecast for each sign in your own “big three”.  It will be like receiving your own personal 3-card reading each week!

Thank you for supporting my new website and Facebook page.  While you are here, please check out the regular tarot readings.  I offer quite a few, and will post new “specials” each sabbat season.

I wish you blessings.
